JOHANNA CHAMPLIN is our teacher in the 9:30 MWF Extended Day Class. She and her husband, James, live in Jefferson Township. Their daughter, Kathleen, is a graduate student at Ball State University pursuing her Doctorate in English Literature. Johanna has over twenty years experience in early childhood education and is starting her sixth year at JBPS. She is looking forward to meeting the children and their parents. She has planned an exciting year of learning and fun!
JEAN SCHULTZ is the teacher for the 3-4 year old 9:00 class and teaches the 8:30 MWF class too. This is her 10th year at our preschool. Jean went to college to become a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and worked in long term care for several years before becoming a full time homemaker in 1990. Jean has three daughters; Madeline (20) is a Junior at I.U.P.U.I. in Indianapolis; Katherine (18) graduated from High School in June and is currently living in Germany. She is an Au Pair (nanny) for a family there. She plans to return to America in the summer of 2011 and is planning to attend I.U.P.U.I.. Jessica (15) is a Sophomore at Northridge High School. Jean is a graduate of Bible Study Fellowship and has been an active children’s ministry volunteer since 1992. Jean and her family are active members of Crystal Valley Missionary Church in Middlebury. Jean enjoys watching High School soccer, reading, swimming, shopping, watching movies, playing euchre, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
SHONDA BOUTWELL is the MWF teacher’s assistant in the 8:30 class. She is married to Jacque and the mother of three daughters. She has an associates degree in early childhood education and has served Jefferson Brethren Church in the Mini Trekker program (4yr old-Kindergarten) on Wednesday nights for the past 8 years. She is looking forward to serving the Lord in both the Preschool and Mini Trekker program this year.
LISA DRAKE is the assistant in the MWF Extended Day Class. She lives in the Jefferson area with her husband, Chuck, and her 2 sons. She has an associates degree in early childhood education and this is her 4th year at JBPS.
ANGELA OTTO is the assistant in the T/TH 9-11 AM class for 3 year olds. Last year she was a standby substitute. She lives in Jefferson Twp. with her husband Earl and their three children Emileigh, Kayleigh and Rhyan. Angela is looking forward to a fun and exciting year!
MELISSA JONES is a standby substitute. This is her 3rd year with Jefferson Brethren Preschool. She works under 3 Police Officers as a Crossing Guard & Traffic Controller at two Goshen Community Schools and has worked there for 5 years. She thoroughly enjoys the interactions with her students. She's been married to her husband, Bruce, for 23 yrs. and has 2 fantastic sons, Courtland -19, who will be attending Indiana Technical University this fall and Seth - 15, who will be a freshman at Northridge High School. She considers Jesus as her best friend and loves to talk about biblical & spiritual things. She enjoys boating, motorcycling & vacationing with her family.
