Just like any good relationship, you need to spend time with that person, get to know them, share your thoughts and feelings, have lunch with them, call or text them. The more you put into the friendship, the more you get out of it. How do you do that with God? To begin with, you need to know that Jesus is the Son of God and came to earth to be the bridge between God and man (Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6) To really know who God is, you need to look at Jesus. You can learn a lot about Jesus by studying the Bible. Below is a simplified step-by-step process of first accepting Jesus, and second, building on that relationship.
Accept Jesus through...
FAITH - Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved. Acts 16:31
REPENTANCE (to feel regret for wrongdoing) - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
CONFESSION - If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
Are you ready to start a new life in Jesus? If you just accepted Jesus through faith, repentance and confession and if you'd like to invite Jesus into your heart and your life, pray:
"Father, I have sinned against You. Please forgive me. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. I give you my life to do with as you wish. I want Jesus Christ to come into my life and into my heart."

Confession - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins. (I John 1:9)
Thanksgiving - No need to buy a greeting card - Just say "Thank You" and give your heartfelt appreciation to God.
Supplication - Ask God for your needs and the needs of others.
2. READ
